pacchamp.JPGThis just in . . . Pacman Jones is the TNA tag team champion and still hasn’t stepped foot in the ring. I kinda want to see this match to see how it unfolded . . .

On the first Sunday of the 2007 football season, Adam “Pacman” Jones became No. 1 – in the tag team wrestling world.

Jones, suspended by the NFL from the Tennessee Titans, teamed with Ron “The Truth” Killings on Sunday (Sept. 9) to defeat Kurt Angle and Sting for the Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling World Tag Team Championship at “No Surrender,” held live on pay-per-view at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla.

“Since signing with TNA, I have said that I want to be a great team-sport athlete,” Jones said, “and tonight, Truth and I proved that.”

Jones never actually got involved in the match physically, though it repeatedly looked as though he might. And Jones actually scored the pinfall over former multi-time World Heavyweight Champion Sting in his lone match activity.

Highlights of Jones’ in-ring moment of glory will be shown this Thursday, Sept. 13, on Impact! (Spike TV, 8 p.m. CT).
