NFL reporters need offseason jobs

NFL reporters really should just follow the players and take the offseason off. Or go scoop ice cream on the Jersey shore. Or put on a Goofy suit in Orlando. Or go cover cricket in Australia. Any of that would be more of a contribution to us all than the job they do covering the league in the offseason. The latest reports over the weekend had Randy Moss upset with the Patriots and looking for other offers; he signed a three-year deal with the Pats today. Asante Samuel was heading to the Jets . . . until he signed with the Eagles on Friday. Last year, Brady Quinn was a Dolphin . . . until they picked Ted Ginn. Remember at the end of last season when Tom Coughlin was "gone" from the New York Giants? It seems these guys can't get anything right. -Cyd Zeigler jr.
