favre_cries_text.jpgYep, you knew he’d pull this bullshit at some point, and here he goes and does it. According to ESPN’s Chris Mortenson, Brett Favre has contacted the Green Bay Packers about coming out of retirement to play this season.

With his family “tugging” on him to play, Brett Favre has an “itch” to come out of retirement and report to training camp with the Green Bay Packers later this month, according to sources close to the team and player.

Favre has communicated his potential desire to coach Mike McCarthy but talks have not advanced to a substantive stage, a Packers source said.

I have said for 10 years that this guy is about only one thing: Brett Favre. He can’t get enough attention, so he talks about retiring for several years. Then he retires with big “everybody look at me” tears on national television. Since those crocodile tears, he hasn’t missed a single game. He’s only missed a handful of practices. And he’s suddenly refound himself? He said in March that he didn’t want to play; He hasn’t missed a game and now he does?

If I were in the Packers’ front office, I’d trade this fool to some crappy AFC team that could use him, like the Chiefs, who grabbed Joe Montana late in his career. He’ll suck there and make the Packers look smart. Aaron Rodgers gives the Packers a better chance to win next year (this year is dicey). And they ain’t going to no Super Bowl with Brett Favre. -Cyd Zeigler jr.
