Remember in elementary school when you learned that you have to dribble a basketball to run with it? Well the NBA has changed all that. This season they are allowing players to take two full steps with the basketball before coming to a stop. It’s believed that this is the first time any major basketball league in the world has done this. Why? Because THAT’S NOT BASKETBALL!!! Even in Netball a player can only take one step with the ball.

Of course, this is just codifying what NBA refs have let great players like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan do for years. These players were allowed to take two or more steps with the basketball while most other players were forced to stick to the rules. At least now all the players will play by the same traveling rules…until they allow LeBron to take four steps. Handball, anyone?
