Metro council steps up pressure on Belmont

At the behest of the Tennessee Equality Project, the Nashville Metro Council is considering a bill that would strip Belmont University of its lease of a city park where the school is building sports facilities to the tune of $7 million. The bill is co-sponsored by Councilmen Jamie Hollin (right) and Mike Jameson.

“It’s not only the personal policy of mine, but it’s also the policy of the Metropolitan government of Nashville-Davidson County that we don’t think you discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation,” Hollin said.

Check out a video report after the jump.

Hat tip to PJ and Nick.
