ESPN rejects anti-transgender comments by radio hosts Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin

ESPN spokesperson Josh Krulewitz has released a statement to Outsports regarding the anti-transgender comments made by ESPN 980 radio hosts Steve Czaban and Andy Pollin:

“The two are not employees of ESPN and made the comments on an affiliated radio station that controls its own local content. The offensive commentary goes completely against ESPN’s company culture and values. We have expressed our significant dissatisfaction to the station’s management.”

As the statement says, the two are not ESPN employees. The station licenses the ESPN brand and some of its content; However, the station is owned and operated by Red Zebra Broadcasting, which is owned in part by Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.

I've been told from other sources at ESPN that the company is borderline furious with the comments by Czaban and Pollin, and we may not have seen the end of this saga.
