Former NFL player regrets not coming out earlier
Wade Davis, the gay former NFL player whose story we brought to you on Tuesday, sat down this morning with Soledad O'Brien to talk about his time in the NFL and his work with LGBTQ youth at the Hetrick-Martin Institute. He voiced a familiar theme we've heard from gay former pro athletes: Regret for not coming out publicly while still an active athlete. You can watch the 5-minute video after the jump.
Despite not being a name people recognized, the story has gotten a lot of play from USA Today, Yahoo! Sports, gay media and others.
