Hi Everyone,

Labor Day weekend of 2014, Detroit is hosting a slow pitch softball tournament at one of the premier softball parks in the region. We want to get the word out to people so they can plan on coming to Detroit in 2014!

We will keep this post updated as we have more details about the hotels, parties and tournament rules. Two things to note is that the Detroit MIST is ran by the Metro Detroit LGBT Softball League. The league is made up of LGBT folks and our straight friends. Detroit MIST follows that same precedence as well as the USSSA Men's rules.

Some history:
The Metro Detroit Gay and Lesbian Softball League (MDSL) was formed in 1985 and is celebrating its 29th year in the summer of 2014. The Midwest Invitational Softball Tournament (MIST) was formed shortly thereafter by Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh with the purpose of promoting and encouraging a closer and more enjoyable community in an atmosphere of friendly sports competition. The tournament rotates between Detroit (2014), Cincinnati (2013), Columbus(2015), and Cleveland (2016) each year.
