In the 4th round of Super Rugby today between the Brumbies and the Waratahs, David Pocock, the flanker newly acquired by the Brumbies this season from Western Force, was injured with a possible ACL tear to his left knee that could end the season for him.
Pocock may be out for at least six months according to The Australian.
Not only will he miss the rest of the Super Rugby season, but Pocock will miss the Wallabies take on the British and Irish Lions, for which he was to be the skipper.
Pocock has been at the forefront of many issues central to the LGBT community, including ending homophobia in sports and the struggle for marriage equality. Through his foundation, EightyTwentyVision, the Zimbabwe-born Pocock helps communities there to attain self-sufficiency. Pocock is a true friend! Godspeed to him!
