American figure skater Johnny Weir hopes to make the U.S. team for the 2014 Sochi Olympics and said he is willing to get arrested to call attention to anti-gay laws in Russia.

"If it takes me getting arrested for people to pay attention, and for people to lobby against this law, then I'm willing to take it," Weir told CBS News, adding: "Like anyone, I'm scared to be arrested. But I'm also not afraid of being arrested."

At the same time, Weir said he would not make any public displays of affection with his husband in Russia, nor wear a pride pin. "I can kiss him when I get to my hotel," said Weir of his husband.
