In a nice gesture of solidarity, Team DC recently raised $4,000 to bring Russian athletes to Cleveland for this year's Gay Games. It was a show of support for the Russian LGBT movement in light of recent anti-gay laws passed in the country.

Team DC, the umbrella group for 30 LGBT sports clubs in the Washington DC metro area, also held a fashion show and model search this month that raised $11,000 to fund the college scholarships which are given annually to local, openly gay student athletes. The show raised $8,000 and members of the DC Flag Football League came on stage and contributed an additional $3,000.

This year’s fashions were donated by Tattee Boy, Mensuas, Body Aware, Fireboy, T Christopher New York, Underbriefs, Skiviez, Adam & Eve and Universal Gear. The show was broadcast by the CCE Sports Network and can be seen in clips and in its entirety.
