Russian Orthodox priest Alexander Shumsky is railing against the World Cup because, apparently, the World Cup is gay. World Cup players, according to Shumsky, have turned the event gay with their colorful shoes and "unthinkable" hairstyles. From the Moscow Times:

"The liberal ideology of globalism clearly wants to oppose Christianity with football. I'm sure of it. Therefore I am glad that the Russian players have failed and, by the grace of God, no longer participate in this homosexual abomination," the priest wrote in his online column.
I didn't see any criticism by Shumsky of the balls used in the World Cup, but just look at those things! Rainbows everywhere! Soccer balls should be black and white, not rainbow-colored. It's a gay conspiracy!
Actually, the entire Western world is becoming just a little bit gayer every day. And since Brazil is leading the way, you might understand why Shumsky is so bent out of shape about the World Cup. Gay! Gay! Gay!
