Rev. Warren Hall has been removed as the director of the Seton Hall Univ. campus ministry after posting a photograph on Facebook supporting understanding of LGBT people, according to various sources including NJ.com. In his roll Hall ministered to various Pirates sports teams on campus.

He announced his removal from the school's staff by tweeting, "I've been fired from SHU for posting a pic on FB supporting LGBT 'NO H8'. I'm sorry it was met with this response. I'll miss my work here."

He followed up with this tweet later on Friday:

According to the Asbury Park Press, there’s lots of finger-pointing going on and no one will explain how this came about:

Responding to an inquiry on the subject, Seton Hall spokeswoman Laurie Pine emailed, "Seton Hall University does not comment on personnel matters. The Archbishop of Newark appoints the Director of Campus Ministry, who serves at his discretion."

Archdiocese spokesman Jim Goodness said in an email, "We don't comment on priest assignment or other personnel decisions."

Seton Hall has been active in demeaning and attacking LGBT people for years. In 2011 the school was sued by gay student claiming discrimination. The school has also been sued for not allowing an LGBT group on campus.

As I asked recently, why on earth is a school with such discriminatory practices allowed to remain in the NCAA?

As the Asbury Park Press also points out, Derrick Gordon is set to visit Seton Hall this weekend to possibly join the men's basketball team.

Get your popcorn ready.
