When WNBA star Elena Delle Donne came out publicly in a magazine interview as being in a same-sex relationship, she became the 44th openly gay, lesbian, bisexual and intersex athlete who will compete in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. Among these athletes are a record 11 men.
