Brazilian rugby sevens player Isadora Cerullo got the surprise of the Olympics on Monday when her longtime girlfriend proposed marriage to her on the pitch shorty after Brazil's final match of the Olympics. Marjorie Enya, Cerullo's now-fiancée, is a volunteer helping out the organizing committee for the Rio Olympics.

Enya told the BBC:

As soon as I knew she was in the squad I thought I have to make this special. I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it. She is the love of my life.

Brazil hadn't fared so well in the tournament, Today, before the proposal, Brazil beat up pretty badly on Japan, 33-5, to take ninth place in the tournament. Outside of their two matches against Japan, Brazil was outscored 91-3 in its three matches.

But who cares? Cerullo is getting married. The gold medal would have been just the consolation prize anyway. The couple live together in Sao Paulo now, though Cerullo also lives in North Carolina.
