Steen’s Top 20 Men's Poll

03-06-01

The conference games are over outside of the conference tournaments so there is not a lot to say since we don’t know whom the top teams are playing outside of first round games. Yes I know the Pac-10 does not have a tournament, but that is changing soon if I am not mistaken. I have no comments for 11 thru 20 in the poll since they could end up anywhere in the Tournament seeding depending on conference tournament play.

B-Ball Stud of the Week

Teddy Dupay, Florida: Did you see the Florida – Kentucky game on Sunday? Florida’s Teddy Dupay was just too hot for words. Loved that tattoo on the arm.

1

Stanford

1

(27-1) Looking good after handling USC and UCLA with relative ease. Arizona visits on Thursday but even if they lose they will be a lock for a #1 seed in the Big Dance.

2

Duke

4

(26-4) An impressive win against UNC at Chapel Hill. Should get a #1 seed.

3

Michigan State

2

(24-3) Even if they do not win the Big Ten tournament they might still get a #1 seed.

4

Illinois

5

(23-6) The Illini must win the Big Ten tournament to get a #1 seed and I think after two years losing in the final they might be hungry.

5

Florida

6

(22-5) The Gators are for real and could move up to a #1 seed in the South bracket if the Illini or MSU tumble.

6

North Carolina

3

(23-5) UNC looked vulnerable against Duke on Sunday. They can redeem themselves in the ACC Tournament.

7

Iowa State

7

(25-4) An almost certain lock as the #2 Midwest seed.

8

Arizona

8

(21-7) Wildcats face a tough test at Stanford but a win would send a strong signal for the Big Dance.

9

Boston College

11

(23-4) Good play in the Big East will lock a #2 seed in the East bracket.

10

Kansas

12

(23-5) A win in the Big Twelve Tournament should earn a #2 seed.
