Outsports has thrived off of the
incredible support of the people who have rallied around this
Web site for more than two years. The work that has
gone into it has paid off in the birth of a community for a group of
people--gay sports fans and athletes--that did not exist before.
Many of you have asked how you can help
make Outsports even stronger. You realize that a viable, vibrant and
growing site will only increase the visibility of gays and lesbians in
the sports world. We have set up an easy way for you to contribute
financially, which will enable Outsports to continue its path toward
building our community's full potential. All money we raise from these
contributions will go back into building Outsports.com, and building
the gay sports community. Some of the ways we'll be doing that
with your contributions:
- Redeveloping the technical side of
the site so that
the interactive elements (discussion board, membership
areas, etc...) are married to the content-driven sections,
creating a stronger platform for our community. You've no doubt
already noticed changes to our Clubhouse and areas such as Jock Talk
and Picture This;
- Reaching out to established and
emerging writers
to bring you more original, groundbreaking, gay sports content;
- Developing a program to reach out
to, and support, young gay athletes dealing with homophobia in
their high school and college;
- Supporting the good work of
Outsports members by sponsoring events that build and strengthen
our community.
We hope you can make even the smallest
of contribution to offer Outsports in our quest to continue to bring
you the strongest gay sports community anywhere. All the information
you need is to your left.
