We know there are plenty of guys out there playing flag football. Right now, we know only of four gay teams playing. If you would like yourself listed as a local contact for gay flag football, or you're playing on a team, please e-mail us and give us the pertinent info.

The Report From L.A.

Feb. 23, 2002

WEATHER: The perfect Southern California day: sunny, 75. Just like the Chamber of Commerce ordered.

We had a great turnout and played for nearly three hours. Got in two games and a lot of solid plays.

WELCOME: To Eric and a welcome back to Joe and Chris.

CATCH OF THE DAY: Doug's amazing one-handed grab for a first down on fourth and 10. The pass was a bit high and Doug kept it alive, then stretched, caught the ball and stayed in-bounds.

BALL HAWKS: There were seven inteceptions in the two games. Octavio had two, Doug, Bubba and JP had one (both on super defensive plays) and Jim had one on a nice carom off David. The pick of the day came from Eric, who made an amazing one-handed catch as he was falling down.

NICE GRABS: There were several really nice catches off of passes thrown either a bit high or low. Bubba had one caught high and low (where he used his legs to secure the ball); Phil had a nice one thrown high; Joe and David each had one low and Bryan had a nifty one along the sideline on a high pass.

NICE PASSES: Cyd on a scramble and long throw to Doug; Eric on a flanker pass long for a touchdown to Jay, who made a great move; Jim on a long sideline pass for a score to Chris.

SAY WHAT?: Jay, in pregame warmups, said every week he ``does something that dazzles and amazes us.'' How does one respond to dementia?

DEEEFENSE: There was rare goal-line stand in the second game, where Orange faced second and a half-yard. Two incompletions an a great sack by Demond was the result.

(Note: Outsports co-founders Jim Buzinski and Cyd Zeigler Jr. play in this group.)
