We know there are plenty of guys out there playing flag football. Right now, we know only of two gay teams playing. If you would like yourself listed as a local contact for gay flag football, or you're playing on a team, please e-mail us and give us the pertinent info.

The Report From L.A.
Oct. 6, 2001

WEATHER: Perfect. 70, sunny, slight breeze. We had 19 turnout this week.

DEFENSIVE PLAY OF THE NEW CENTURY: The Brandon/Matt tag team pick. They both rush Don, who tries a screen pass to Demond. The ball hits Matthew in the chest, does a pinball off of Don and into the startled waiting arms of Brandon ``Siragusa,'' who rumbles about 40 yards before being tackled. A lineman's dream!

FREDDIE'S BACK: Hadn't seen Freddie in about 2 years, but he comes right in and hits Cyd and Demond in stride on 2 nice bombs. Unfortunately, he hurts his ankle and has to leave.

THE PERFECT BACK PART 1: Matthew, a dynamite blocker who scored three times on swing and shovel passes.

HIGHEST QB RATING: Jay, near perfect during his two drives as quaterback.

LONG PASS OF THE DAY: Jim to Marcus, who beat a surprised Shon.

HE'S RANDY MOSS (AT LEAST HE SAYS HE IS): Shon, who was dynamic as a receiver with Anthony as QB.

NEVER STOP: Brent catches a pass at the 5 and could walk in. But he stops and waits for his flag to get grabbed thinking he had already scored.

PERFECT TIMING: Bryan's great pick, where he sliced in front of the receiver to snag the ball.

RELIEF PITCHER: Anthony did a great shop at quarterback in the second game. He throws just like Randall Cunnningham.

WHO KNEW HE HAD THOSE MOVES: JP, who caught a short pass on the right and weaved through five tacklers into the end zone. Yeah, we were all shocked.

THE PERFECT BACKS PART 2: Don effectively used Cyd running out of the backfield and Demond blocking in the backfield, and Green wasn't able to figure out how to defend the speed in the middle as Don picked them apart for two scores.

SNEAK ATTACK: Dave "Shiner" with a nifty pick.

WILL ONE GOOD OUTING DESERVE A SECOND?: In game 2, Anthony stepped in at quarterback and kept Orange guessing, using quick hits and long bombs.

IT'S A M*A*S*H UNIT: We had a bunch of injuries today: I hurt my right knee, Cyd his back, Freddie his ankle, Christopher and David their fingers, Brent his foot, Marcus his ankle. I forget anybody.

NEXT GAME: Oct. 13, Hollywood High, 11:30. Bring water, a light and dark shirt, and try to tape your fingers or wear receiver's gloves.

(Note: Outsports co-founders Jim Buzinski and Cyd Zeigler Jr. play in this group.)
