We know there are plenty of guys out there playing flag football. Right now, we know only of two gay teams playing. If you would like yourself listed as a local contact for gay flag football, or you're playing on a team, please e-mail us and give us the pertinent info.

The Report From L.A.
Oct. 27

WEATHER: Partly sunny, 70, slight wind. Perfect.

WACKY PLAY IF THE DAY: Jim throws a 10-yard pass to Don. Don decides, for some inexplicable reason, to throw the ball back about 9 yards to Bryan. Bryan, for some inexplicable reason, rears back his arm to pass. Jim yells ``Don't Throw It!,'' realizing a) Bryan is past the line and b) it's illegal to throw two forward passes on the same play. Bryan throws the ball towards the sidelines where it looks like it will fall incomplete. But Doug somehow snags the ball while heading out of bounds, for an interception.

QUITE A QUARTERBACK RATING: Shon threw three TD passes in about five attempts, two of them off of wide receiver passes.

RUN, FORREST, RUN: JP had the defensive gem of the day. Playing cornerback, he first tips a pass in the air, then snags it, then changes direction and runs 40 yards for a touchdown. All while his partner Matt is taping Jim's ankle. But Matt did see the replay on Josie's camcorder.

TAKE THAT: The most emotional TD came on a dump pass to Scott, who started the play blocking Brandon. After a fierce battle akin to two elk battling, Scott left his block, caught a pass, rumbled into the end zone and spiked the ball emphatically.

IS HE WEARING STICK 'EM?: The best hands have to belong to Doug. He catches everything. A case in point ...

BEST USE OF AN OPPONENT'S BODY PART TO MAKE A CATCH: On a 2-point conversion, Bryan does a great job of batting the ball away. But the ball lands on his upper back and sits there a second until Doug calming comes along and grabs it.

HEY, GRAB THIS: It was one of those days where about a dozen guys cursed as they had an opponent's flag, only to see it slip through their fingers. On one play, Brent--unaware his flag was still attached--stopped and was tackled at the 1-yard line.

SHUTTERBUG: As always, thanks to Brent for taking the pictures. There are plenty more than we post so e-mail him if you want some sent special to you.

NEXT UP: Saturday Nov. 3, 11:30 a.m. Bring a white and dark shirt.

(Note: Outsports co-founders Jim Buzinski and Cyd Zeigler Jr. play in this group.)
