WEATHER: Partly sunny, 70, slight
wind. Perfect.
NEW BLOOD: A big welcome to newcomers James (our
first Aussie) and Nick (our first Caltech doctoral student). Both were terrific to have. And a welcome
back to the newly married Anthony.
BALL HAWKS: In the game against the Ohio Staters, Pete had three picks, Shon two and Cyd one.
YELLOW WHAT? The funniest moment came in our
regular game when Brent, calling the defense, wanted Bryan to guard Nick man-to-man. But instead of saying
take Nick, or guard the guy in the yellow tank top, Brent kept loudly saying Yellow jacket!
Bryan gave Brent a look that said, I know yellow jacket is any of several small social wasps or hornets
having bright-yellow markings, but what does that have to do with defense? No one guarded Nick and Jim hit
him for an easy 60-yard TD.
CATCH OF THE DAY: Pete made a beautiful end zone grab on a fade against Ohio State.
FANTASY FOOTBALL STAR: Anyone who had JP in their fantasy league won big. He scored three touchdowns,
two on 40+-yard plays, and we imagine was suitably exhausted the next day.
NEXT: We are back Saturday, Nov. 10. Bring a white and a dark shirt.
