A couple of comments -- feel free to add on:

I got to watch a lot of the Colts-Jets game -- the Jets went for a TD on 4th and goal with the score tied at 17. Didn't get it. Colts win 31-28. Jets could've used those 3 points, huh? Afterwards I heard Boomer Esaiason (I think it was his comment) say it was a good decision because "you have to come away with points against the Colts." HUH?

The Patriots looked much more impressive today than they have all year -- but were they that good or are the Bengals the poster boys for underachieving?

Disgrace of the day: after a Dallas TD the Titans' Albert Haynesworth stomped on the head of Dallas' Andre Gurode -- AFTER Gurode's helmet came off. Gurode needed stitches and had blurred vision and didn't return. Haynesworth was ejected (and after getting a second penalty on the same play, I think for arguing with the officials, the ensuing Dallas kickoff was from Tennessee's 40-yard line ohmy.gif ) -- it was a terrible act and there needs to be a suspension.

A couple of my own adds:

Seahawks...eeeeek! If they weren't in such a bad division...

And something I'm calling the D'oh! of the Day:

QUOTE
The Vikings threatened on their final drive -- getting as far as the Bills' 16-yard line -- but with no timeouts left, Vikings receiver Billy McMullen failed to get out of bounds and the clock simply ran out on Minnesota.

Ah, Billy McMullen. If only the Vikes kept Mike McMahon the circle of non-life would be complete. ohmy.gif

I read that the second penalty on Haynesworth I mentioned was for throwing off his helmet, for what it's worth...as for tonight, let's hope the Eagles send drama queen Brett Favre one step closer to retirement, and that the ESPN MNF crew all come down with laryngitis.

Favre sometimes looks old and befuddled sometimes on the field, IMO. He still has some gas in the tank, but I don't think enough to lead his team out of another losing season.

This will be the first MNF game I watch without distractions now that baseball is done. I haven't heard good things about the announcing crew, so we'll see.

Loved watching the Bears tear through a team they supposedly had no chance of beating. The Bears were the team that got me into football way back in their Super Bowl season so it's nice to see them doing well so far.

Until the Redskins beat the Texans last week, I had no idea how adorable David Carr is. What a cutie. And it was great to see the Skins come back and win yesterday after foolishly letting the Jags tie the game.

What was that wacky play in the Jets game? I have never seen something like that.

Okay, it's Monday. So when will be the next T.O. drama? Wednesday? You think he can top last week?

Brian Westbrook is out for tonight with his swollen knee. The secondary is still depleted with Rod Hood and (still) Lito Sheppard out. Ahman Green is out for the Packers.

Look for lots and lots of passing yards.

Oh, and what kind of farce is it that the leading QB rating belongs to David Carr???

Speaking of farces, what the hell is going on with the Eagles' offense? Two fumbles lost instead of scores? The mismanagement of that final first-half drive? Well, that one's par for the course with Andy Reid. And the fake field goal was ludicrous. Just let Akers kick the ball.

Edit to add Well, the second half was much improved. So basically it's a reversal of the first 3 games where they went wild early and struggled at the end. Still, the Eagles need to make some improvements and get people healthy if they want to seriously contend.

And this week the circus comes to town. rolleyes.gif
