I don't know where to put this, but I think this is the best place here.

I know most of the guys here don't post anything really personal since I don't think many of you want to look vulnerable, but oh well. Here I go ...

Today is my Dad's 50th birthday. I just find it so bizarre that my Dad is 50!! Yeah, I have young parents, but I remember when he turned 30 and that doesn't seem so long ago.

When my Dad was my age, he had two kids (me and my sister) and running a farm. And I still think of myself as a kid.

I guess I'm being reflective today and I wished I was back at home celebrating w/ my family. However, I'm not, but I do hope my Dad has an awesome birthday and I hope that I can have the level of happiness he has with his life that I can w/ mine.

It's funny, I often catch myself thinking, "When my mom was my age..." (I could care less about what my father was doing since he is out of my family's life) and in recent years, it has now become "When, my mom was my age, I was...". For example, when my mom was my age, I was getting ready for second grade. frown
