Didn't win at the Gay Games? Never mind, you can buy yourself a gold, silver or bronze
medal and have it engraved for yourself. The auctioneers Lawsons (97370800) are holding
a sale at 16-18 Byrne Street, Auburn, at 10am today called Remains of the Gay Games.
Besides the medals, it has T-shirts, caps, Eskies and props and costumes, including
three-metre-high purple onions. Now that's something everybody needs.

I've been racking my brain for weeks now, trying to think of the perfect Christmas gift for my Manfriend. Finally, my prayers have been answered...a three-metre high purple onion! I think it would make a lovely, tasteful lawn ornament, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't have one already.

Btw, what's an “Eskie?” I thought we only had those in Canada.

Don't do it, Seph: I bought my beau ideal a three-metre high puple onion last year, only to have him exchange it for a four-metre high cauliflower.

an "esky" is similiar to what New Zealanders call a "chilly bin"

basically an insulated box with a handle that you fill with ice blocks and beer, and you can take it away for pic nics, etc without your beer getting cold. which is something we really need to do here in sydney at the moment!
