Bobby Morris Playfield at Cal Anderson Park on 11th and Pine, Capitol Hill
Post Practice Social, Location TBA after practice

The Seattle Quake Rugby Football Club (RFC) will have their fall New Player Orientation (NPO) on Saturday August 12th at 11am-1pm. This event is open to everyone regardless of their rugby (or other team sport) experience.

Seattle Quake Rugby Football Club (RFC) is a non-profit, community-based, amateur athletic organization. The mission of Seattle Quake RFC is to foster local, regional, national, and international participation and competition in the game of Rugby Union Football, and to create an environment where members of the community can learn the laws and practice of Rugby Football Union, thus improving their capabilities as players. Seattle Quake RFC is especially focused on providing opportunities for learning and playing competitive Rugby Union Football to communities traditionally underrepresented, including gay men and men of color. All are welcome.

Practice will last for approximately two hours with much of that consisting of a beginner’s introduction to the sport. There will be running, ball handling, and some basic skills introduction. After practice we will announce the location of an all-team social with free beer and food. There, you will be able to socialize with the members of the Quake and learn more about this amazing sport. For more information about the quake, please visit http://www.quakerugby.org.

Interested participants should bring: water, shorts, a nonessential t-shirt and running shoes or cleats and dry clothes to change into for the post-practice social. If you’re interested in joining the team and want some basic info about how to play rugby, please email info@quakerugby.org for a rugby introduction primer.
