I know in less than a month, teams can officially begin practice and I can't wait. Just hope my Cougs aren't a national bust because we will have numerous pre-season rankings and expectations.
However, any other predictions out there? NCAA champ? Overrated teams? Underrated? Impact fresh? Coach of the year?

i think this season will be exciting coz there is no real clear cut fav. I think Memphis and Tennessee are locks for the final 4 (it kills me to say that too).
I hope my UK cats can rebound have a steller year. New coach may be difficult, but a top notch recruiting class is really great. Alot of peeps in lex are very happy right now.

Madness tips off tonight, but not at midnight, as the NCAA is allowing earlier practice, so people won't be out driving later at night after MM's are over.

Illinois' MM, along with four other Big Ten teams, will be shown on the Big Ten Network.
Also, Illinois got verbals from the three best Illinois guards of the '09 class yesterday and today. I'm more confident that these will hold, unlike that guy who went to Indiana. I forget his name, hmmm, he must not be that important.

I don't know who that is ....
my home area is all abuzz about Bertrand going to UI, all the things I've seen have said that the 3 want to become the 2nd coming of Deron, Dee, and Luther

I was talking about Eric Gordon, but I don't like to say his dirty double-crossing name.
Those three commits were big, I think everyone following recruiting is really excited about this. With Jereme Richmond coming in for the 2010 school year, Illinois could be back in the Final Four in just a few years.
Have to get through the next few seasons of course. Illinois is probably going to finish in the 5-6 range this season, but it'll be interesting to see how some of the freshmen play.

This guy just can't stop doing things improperly, can he? How long till he departs Indiana, leaving that program in a mess with all its sanctions and penalties, only to go somewhere else and start the whole process over?

I'm predicting:
a) Jon Brockman (Wash) or Tyler Hansborough (UNC) will be the 2008 NCAA National Eye Candy Player of the Year

OJ Mayo will get in fight/brawl

Predictions can't be things that have already happened this season.

That is if you count fights during pick-up games with teammates.

Woah, woah, just making a joke there kiddo, no need to get angry.
And when one of your teammates announces to the public that there was a fight, I'm going to guess there was, no matter how the coach tries to spin it.

Just goes to show you that Indiana doesn't care about anything but winning, even if they have to do it with a scumbag, dirtball coach like Sampson.

Hey Wazzu, Howie Stalwick of The Inlander has picked the Cougs for 2nd I believe. May want to try and pickup the latest issue out today. He had all the local teams and their predicted finishes.. Not bad at all, and they may just end up in first. The Zags, no surprise here, will win the WCC again. I see where they won last night, against Emporia...woo-hoo, with Montana up next to kick off the season on Sunday afternoon! Can't wait for that one!

OJ Mayo has been shown to be the basketball equal of Randy Moss
I doubt he'll be at USC too long
maybe he'll end up back at Marshall like Moss

If they were only concerned with winning they wouldn't have put up with Bobby Knight for, say, the last 10 years he was there.

I hope you're right 'casue that bodes well for the Longhorns that stomped Tennessee on Saturday (somewhat easing the pain of the football debacle on Friday). Big 12 has three top ten teams right now with some good non-conference wins. It'll be a fun year.

Well since I don't post on this forum much I thought I would see if there are any Michigan State fans watching (or even going to) the BYU game this Saturday in Salt Lake City.
If the Cougars can play like they did against Louisville or 3/4 of the North Carolina game, I think they have a shot in this one. If Tavernari can stay hot outside, Plaisted can try and stay dominant in the post (has three triple doubles already). I am not as familiar with Michigan State at this point so I have no idea how BYU doesn or doesn't matchup. What are the Spartans strengths?
Go Cougars!

Arizona State had a big win under 2nd year coach Herb Sendek. Nice to see the Sundevils take down ranked Xavier.
