Here we go...they started yesterday...I didn't see the compulsory dance..what happened to Belbin and Agosto?

The pairs competition looks very interesting..great performance by the Zhang/Zhang. Very well Dubč/Davison too

Hi Andrea, I don't want to know anything until I see it taped or live on television. They will not show the compulsories on tv so I don't know about B&A. All I have heard so far is that Evan Lysacek is out due to injury. Tonight I'm going to the Dynamo soccer match and tomorrow I stay in to watch the figure skating.

So I won't comment on the pairs long program until tomorrow and on the ladies short until friday smile.gif

Sorry, I hope I didn't come off as rude. Thanks for holding off but you don't have to. I'll just wait until I see it on tv before looking here, like I do with the sports news.
Thanks again Andrea. wink.gif

I doubt I'll ever understand this sport and how it's judged.

I'm sure Kostner is a sweet young lady, but how in the world did she win the short program, and get the silver overall?? Her short program didn't have any glaring errors, but her jumps were noticeably inferior to the other skaters. And her long program was a mess.

The American announcers were baffled, too. This can't be chalked up to nationalism, either, because it wasn't an American skater who had anything to gain, it was another Japanese skater (Nakano) and a Korean skater (Kim) who should have been higher on the podium, or on the podium in the first place. I agree with Dick Button, for once, they need to have an investigation into the scoring of the ladies event.

Way to go, Jeff Buttle!

Very cool that Jeff Buttle won the Gold Medal smile.gif

But I agree... it seems fans don't understand the new scoring system in Figure Skating and unless the "Powers that Be" make the necessary changes, they're going to lose many fans and see figure skating dealt a massive death blow.
