The NY Times yesterday had an article on the winner of the New York City Marathon. He immigrated at age twelve to the US. A blogger, who I read, had some interesting comments. It's disheartening to me that there are some in this country which was built on the blood and sweat of immigrants (many not by their choice), cannot embrace, what is to me, the classic tale of the "American Dream."

Not considered American enough by "some" (aka some white people) who feel that they are the only "true" Americans here.

Don't lay it all on white people Terp...there is plenty of American-born black prejudice against black immigrants from Jamaica or African nations too.

Glad to see that race is no longer an issue in the US.

How dare he immigrate at age 12? He should have come to the USA no later than 10 minutes after he was born, dammit!
