Awesome job from Spillane but what a lesson in sports psychology. You knew he was in trouble when he kept looking backwards. You need to race your own race!

He knew he was losing it and had to gauge how much he had to try to muster up to stay ahead. One could tell he was barely able to hold it together the last 100m. The French guy could sense it and went for it. it was so exciting. The cool part is no one is saying, oh too bad, he almost won gold. he gave it everything he had and skied a great race. Glad he was so happy. So many athletes despair over silver.
The best part of the presentations -- Mary Carillo! Her piece on the Netherlands and speed skating was priceless. Lots of informative and entertaining presentations. I don't get why there was one on Manitoba and the polar bears, but it was interesting.

I applaude Bode Miller, for all that he is accomplishing at these Olympic games. It's amazing what a difference 4 years can make.

Yes congrats to the Canadian women on holding the US women scoreless. Beating them is one thing. Shutting them out is something altogether different. Impressive performance.
I thought the US men's team was playing Finland. Didn't the Slovaks upset the Swedes?
