Final Four-Kansas; WVU; Syracuse and maybe Villanova

yes, I'm a BE homer but I do think that it will be Kansas and WVU in the final with unfortunately Kansas winning it

Yes, a BE homer but that's okay haha...I'm a Pac-10 homer...but I see Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, and K-State making the FINAL FOUR!

My Final 4 is Syracuse, Georgetown, West Virginia an Richmond
Syracuse over WV for it all the one thing that worries me about WV is huggins complaing so much about the seeding.

So I guess I'm not the only one leaning to a pretty chalky tournament at least toward the end. My bracket doesn't have anybody seeded below 3 in the elite 8 which bugs me...I just don't like the 6 seeds very much. Tennessee might beat Georgetown (they've shown they can beat anybody on their night), but I can't see them taking out Georgetown and Ohio St back to back. And the others don't impress me much. Same with the 7 line...hell I like the 10/11 seeds better than the 6/7's this year, but picking a St. Mary's to the Elite 8 seems a bit of a stretch.

And I don't see an obvious 4/1 or 5/1 upset brewing either. Going in, I thought Duke or Syracuse would be vulnerable, but I don't see them losing to the 4/5's in their region. Maybe I'll just change my bracket to force one--Temple over Kentucky maybe? I did hesitate a little over Texas/Kentucky...anybody think there's a chance Texas could come to life?

i bleed burnt orange and i say hell no, texas' team cohesion sucks this year.

First OT game fla vs byu - one of my brackets has fla the other has byu...i think most people lost the first game of the day, ND tongue.gif -- they need "3-pt jesus" for bball like they got "touchdown jesus" for football... wait hes not helping their football team either! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

I was doing good on my bracket until the night games started. The upsets tonight have been unexpected. All I am wanting to happen is Texas A&M to make the Elite 8. My final four Kansas, Syracuse, Kentucky, Baylor
WSU Cougars
I gotta give it up to the Ohio Bobcats! I didn't think they would pull off that win wow!!!

Congrats to Northern Iowa taking down UNLV for their first NCAA win in 20 years! UNI cutie Ali Farokhmanesh hit the game winning 3 from 25 feet out. At least there is something for me to feel good about in state-of-Iowa men's basketball this year! smile.gif

Congrats to the Saint Marys Gaels who took out Villanova this afternoon. Good for them! I don't think anyone anymore can say the W.C.C. is a pushover conference. This is the same team that beat my Zags for the WCC Conference title a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to their next round....good job! laugh.gif

*hears the sound of brackets falling apart* Have to give it to Northern Iowa though knocking off KU. Let the upsets continue
UAJock
woohoo now everyones brackets are as bad as mine!!!!

Can't believe the Terps are still in this. Probably shouldn't have said that. rolleyes.gif

The Northern Iowa game against KU was nothing short of astonishing! Ali is fearless with that 3 point shot. No one gave them a chance (including me), but they somehow kept Kansas from getting into any sort of offensive rhythm until it was too late at the end. UNI had never even played a #1 ranked team before, let alone beat them. I think I read today that the Missouri Valley hadn't knocked off the top team since something like 1962. Hopefully they can keep it going for another game or two.

Hard to believe this is the same team that lost to worst-in-the-Valley Evansville last month. blink.gif

Go CATS!!

mad.gif That was a heartbreaking game!!! I mean it was great that MD came back and led late, but for them to lose at the end after that great comeback hurt!! I almost wish they would've just gotten blown out. That was a great opportunity missed too with the early upsets.
JC
Hey--just figured out I could still theoretically win the outsports pool...of course, it would require Tennessee or Northern Iowa winning the tournament, but it's still possible. Shocking.

the WCC is two teams-actually one and a half teams depending on how good St Marys is

I was pulling for Purdue to take down Duke and Northern Iowa* (and their fine-looking coach wink.gif ) to beat Michigan State, but both lost tonight.

Duke next plays a Baylor team that's seen no single-digit seeded team so far (having beaten a 14, 11 and 10). But I'm not convinced Duke is the real deal. I'll take Baylor.

I also like the Tennessee Vols (who played a tight game with Ohio State tonight) over Michigan State.

In the other two matchups I'll take Kentucky over West Virginia and K-State over Butler.

*Too bad Ali Ali Farokhmanesh had a bad game. Of the little of seen of him, he reminds me of a smaller Manu Ginobili. Northern Iowa missed some key free throws, and the 3-point shooting was just not there.

Interesting article in the NY Times about former NBA point guard Rod Strickland who works as an assistant coach under John Calipari--first at Memphis, now at Kentucky. His point guard tutelage assisted, oh, Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans. Not too shabby.

GO GREEN!!
GO WHITE!!
GO STATE!!

Cannot believe that MSU is back in the Final 4 with all the injuries we've had...Tom Izzo is THE MAN!!!

Let's go Spartans!!

What a topsy-turvy tournament. I threw out my pics after the first round. Just as well I never posted them. I've really liked watchin a couple of the games though.

That Michigan St - Tennessee match was especially good.

With Duke the only ACC team left I am sort of hoping they'll get to the final so that Michigan St can take them out after MSU eliminated the Terps.

Congrats to Bulter, Michigan State, Duke, and West Virginia on making the FINAL FOUR.
