Not sure if this has been posted somewhere here before - but I howled. I can just hear the dog saying to himself. "Come on somebody throw it to me." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgNvaYHvBX4

Nothing's cuter than when my 12-year-old, 12-lb. male cat shows fear around my 5 1/2-year-old, 1 lb., 6 oz. umbrella cockatoo. tongue.gif

What color is your cockatoo? They're pretty fun to feed by hand, until they bite.
Crew Chief
She's all white with some yellow accents under her wings. I feed her by hand quite often, and in the 2 years I've had her, she has yet to bite me while being fed. Her beak CAN do some damage, because cockatoos reputedly have the toughest and strongest beaks in the parrot family.

While I'm not keen on animals, I find parrots or birds in their genus to be really awesome. I'd base my interest because of their intense coloring. That sounds cool. The best experience I've had were playing with a pair of scarlet macaws, the parrot most imagine when they think of parrots. I've handled the bird you have before; my cousins used to own one years ago.

Of all the cockatoo species, the Umbrella Cockatoo (often referred to as the U2) is considered one of, if not the, most intelligent. The U2 is also referred to as the velcro bird because of its very affectionate nature and the fact that they tend to stick to one person and become very attached to one individual. Mine fits that description very well, too. She sure can be a chore, though!

U2's look very strange to me. I've seen maybe just one my entire life and it gave me a startle when it puffed up its head feathers, they just seem to have more volumous feathering there than other cockatoos. Blue throated macaws are my favorite as far as coloring goes. They're similar to bicolor angelfish.

Now honestly, is there anything you wouldn't do for him when he gives you that look?

My last dog would try to talk like these two all the time.
