Hey Guys,I'm new here and was wondering if there are any climbers on the site,I'm looking for either Ice or rockclimbers who are interested in climbing up and down the east coast.

My friend Mark helped found Stonewall Climbers a few years ago. It was mostly East Coast, rock & ice, though they travelled some. He's no longer active, being even smarter than he is brave, but he keeps in touch with the guys. I'll forward him your post.
A few years back they climbed the cliffs on Cannon Mountain in Franconia Notch, and spent the night in bivvy sacks on a tiny little ledge halfway up, a few thousand feet in the air. I saw the pictures, and my scrotum still contracts just thinking about it. The next day they finished their climb and Mark's friend Dana did it in drag (just a simple cocktail dress, nothing too elaborate). As they worked their way to the top, another climbing party passed them and one of its members asked Mark, in passing, "by the way, did you notice that your girlfriend has a beard?" I would have fallen off the mountain then, if I hadn't already.
PS: A middie's blouse would work too...
Ha ha, that had me in stitches. I checked out Stonewall, still waiting on a reply, their site does not seem too active. Spending the night a few thousand feet up on a rock wall is the only way to go. Its good for the soul !!

I think my soul would be too busy projectile vomiting for it to gain much benefit from the experience. But kidding aside, several times (including a few New Year's Eves) I HAVE spent the night on a mountain top (the kind you get to by way of a nice civilized hiking trail: Adams, Clinton, Mahoosic Arm, Willard, and Greylock summits, and Chimney Pond at 3000 feet on Katahdin) and I agree with you that it is good for the soul. You lie on your back, with mountain under you and those amazing stars above! You can feel the earth turn...
Very nice, Well I spent the Christmas week out in Red Rocks, not quite a Mountain but a lot of fun and a little cold as it snowed. I'm told it’s the first time in years that Vegas had snow.
