WSU Cougars
Kansas is back in the Top Ten where they belong. The loss to ORU was a minor setback. The KU Jayhawks played toe-to-toe with Florida and won in a great game!!
WSU Cougars
Texas A&M really challenged UCLA and could win the Big 12 this year over Kansas, OSU, and Texas.

Well, for sure it won't be ISU making many waves this year. But honestly, Greg McDermott will have this program back in a year or two. You can SEE the new guys learning and improving nearly every game. This is something that was not happening under Wayne Morgan. The general buzz at ISU is that Coach Mac was a great hire - but the learning curve may be slow. It will depend on who comes in next season.
CycloneMatt
Surprise, surprise! My Cyclones went into Columbia yesterday and came back from 16 down in the second half to take the lead (and win) 66-65 on a basket with 1 second remaining. We listened to it on the radio on the way back from watching the ISU women play there earlier in the day. We'd thought about staying to see the men play, but didn't want to get home at 2 in the morning. Still, was fun to hear on the radio. I think they said the guys have won four in a row over Mizzou.
WSU Cougars
Kansas smacked Oklahoma State today and I was suprised. Didn't expect a TOP TEN OSU team to get eat so badly.
CycloneMatt
Iowa State took KU to overtime in Ames today. Was a really great game (except the ending!) to watch. Although, for anyone who watched the ESPN broadcast of it, we were NOT having some major snowstorm like they kept saying. The "live" shot of the snow towards the end of the first half wasn't live at all as the snow had stopped a good half an hour before they ever showed it. Plus we only got about an inch total. I'm wondering if these guys have just never seen snow before and thought it was really bad or something. blink.gif

Anyway, good job by my Cyclones to stay in it (and lead a lot of the second half). I thought they really showed how far they've come this season and how much they're learning under Coach Mac.
WSU Cougars
I saw the game Matt and nice to see your Cyclones get the game to OT.

I got to see the game here too. ISU did a great job of taking the JHawks into overtime. However KU kept giving the Cyclones SOOO many chances to pull in front, but they just couldn't do it. ::sigh::
WSU Cougars
Great 3 overtime thriller in Stillwater, OK because OSU and Texas. Bogans (OSU) and Durant (Texas) had ESPN Sportscenter TOP TEN performances!!

OSU won by like 2 pts. Both teams scored at least 100 pts lol.

KU's loss to Texas A & M was mildly depressing, but the 'Hawks recovered in fine style with big wins over K-State and Missouri. (I was really looking forward to the KU/K-State matchup for the first time in years, so I was a little disappointed that K-State didn't play better.) It's a good time to be a Jayhawk!
WSU Cougars
Jarrius Jackson made a great shot vs A&M to win the game tonight. WOW!
WSU Cougars
Can we say Kevin Durant for NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR...........

.

Durant was one of the main reasons Texas was killing my Jayhawks in the first half, but the 'Hawks dominated most of the second half - although they let Texas get way too close for comfort toward the end. I'm just thankful the 'Hawks managed to pull off another victory, which puts them in great position heading into the Big 12 tournament.
WSU Cougars
Can't wait to see who comes out on top in OKC at Big 12 tourney.
WSU Cougars
Big 12 Tourney is underway and the only "upset" on the first day was Baylor over Mizzou.
Eric Swanson
Although I'm no fan of the Wildcats, I have to give K-State credit for hanging in there today during today's Big 12 Tournament semifinals. Both KU and K-State played tough today, and I was thankful that the 'Hawks came away with the victory. I think KU will get a fairly high seed in the Big Dance, and I hope KSU makes it as well.
WSU Cougars
K-State did hang in there with KU. KU is so good and if they win the BIG 12 tomorrow they certainly deserve a #1 seed for sure.

KU did win the Big 12 tourney - although Texas kept them running up till the last minute. The 'Hawks nabbed a No. 1 seed - and I hope to hell they make it further this year. The fact that their first-round opponent doesn't begin with a "B" should help, I hope.
WSU Cougars
Big XII schools are doing well in the tourney as well. Texas Tech went down but for the most part the Big 12 is looking good. I still think Kansas will win it all.

Matt - do you know what the deal is with Clayton Vette? It was announced that he's leaving the Cyclones for personal reasons? Will he go back to Indiana State?
CycloneMatt
I haven't really heard anything about Vette other than maybe his heart wasn't in basketball anymore. Don't know if he's going to transfer and try to play somewhere else or not. He didn't get very many minutes in the games he was in this season and had little production to show for his time as well. He might have developed into a decent player over time, but it really wasn't going to happen this year.

I guess this should have gone in a new 2007-08 thread. Oops...
