Is anyone else getting the Western Union Popup on their screen? I bet this thing popsup at least every 10 seconds. How can we stop it? I have the Google Popup blocker running but it doesn't help.

As painful as it might be, gadbear, look in your wallet. Take some of it out, and then invest in a REAL pop-up blocker. I'm using the Norton AV/Internet Security and it's working well. All these pop-ups that everyone is talking about don't exist for me. Yes, it took some money but it keeps me from getting all those annoying ads and viruses.

You truly do get what you paid for!

It's definitely got to go, because any time I refresh the page, or go to a new one, it comes up, and I have a good popup blocker.

I read about the Western Union pop ups but never had it--till today. As other have said, I have paid for anti-block softwares that are supposed to avoid this. This is too much disruption and if this is happening, I don't know what else is happening to my connection to the site that I don't know about. So, though I love the site and I have bought stuff from Outsports advertisers, I don't plan to return to the site for a few months when maybe this and other things are sorted out. But, got to say that I love this site for casualcatching up on news but computer time and problems are too expensive and frustrating to worry about.

It's not a pop-up but a pop-down from the banner ad above the FindaMasseur one. So I don't think blockers can block it. Mine can't.

Nope , its till around. I run Norton and Spymaster and I still can't block it. It does seem to come from from a banner about the masseur ad. Very annoying.

For one of the first times ever, I've been affected by this ad. It's popping up about every 30 seconds, and it appeared as an ad just above the Outsports banner on the discussion forum. My mouse happened move past it on my way to scrolling the page down, and since then it's non-stop.

I'll still keep coming to the site though hahaha...no need to stop coming.

I was able to up my level of prevention from pop-up ads on my Computer Associates protection. That either worked or maybe this pop-up has a life span of a certain number of pops I just have to remember to go back there if some things I want aren't appearing.

I have disabled ads from the discussion board. It is not a pop-up or pop-under, but the ad enlarges when you scroll over it. I have asked the company to discontinue serving that ad.

Please, guys, when this stuff happens, just send us an email at mail@outsports.com. We will tend to it immediately (though please do be patient; it sometimes takes up to two days for this ad-serving company to respond). We appreciate each and every one of you, and we hate to hear that people would leave because of a scroll-down ad.

It wasn't only appearing when you scrolled over it. It isn't happening this morning but for the past couple of days it would just appear with my mouse in the lower corner of the screen. I've seen the types of ads that enlarge when you scroll over them but that was not the case with this one.

This one for me started when my mouse scrolled over the ad, and then it never stopped.

I still don't understand why I was never affected by it. For me it was just a plain old banner ad. It didn't get larger, there was no pop-up or pop-down or pop-under or pop-over, it never affected my browsing, I moved my mouse over it numerous times and none of the above occurred...

I also never saw it. Anytime you see anything, e-mail us. We do check the board during the day but e-mail is a more direct way of letting us know there is a problem. These ad companies service dozens of ads, so stuff like Western Union can crop up w/o our knowledge. Thanks!

Well I'm still getting it. It had been only on the discussion pages but now its on the main page as well.

LOL...this is so funny. I didn't know anyone had posted about it but it was driving me crazy too. I'm glad it seems to be gone now as I'm sure God was tired of me taking his name in vain. Cuz every time that thing expanded and I had to close it out I was sayin all kinds of obscenities.

That same pop-up has been driving me crazy too. But I got no pop-ups tonight. Hopefully, it's gone for good. That pop-up was a pain in the ass, but not so bad that I considered a break from posting. I run three different anti-virus and spyware software, but none of them could stop Western Union.

Well hopefully the Western Union ad is gone for good. We'll see. But Western Union is now added to the list of companies I won't do business with because of that stupid pop-up.

Okay, that's better. Thanks Cyd and Jim for having the Western Union ad removed. I don't even see the banner ad now. When I posted the note above I first sent an email to both Cyd and Jim telling them about it. Did you guys not get my email? It would have been from gadbearr.
