I developed a few small varicose veins in my late teen years and they have gotten progessively worse in the 20 years since. My aren't terrible, but I am incredibly self conscious about them (particularly the area of my inner leg just above my right knee) and am at a point where I can (hopefully) afford some kind of surgical/cosmetic fix.
Has anyone ever had this problem and had it fixed? I'd like to get peoples' opinions regarding treatment options (vein stripping vs. chemical collapse, etc.) and a rough idea how much this costs, satisfaction with your results, etc. I don't think my doctor will consider this a medical necessity, so I'll probably have to pay out of pocket. Even if it costs me several thousand $$ and has to be redone in ten years, I will consider it worth it.
