Full Version: Watching sports in Madison

Hi - I'm new to the Outsports boards and this is my first post.

I'm hoping that I can find guys here who live in this area (Madison WI) who enjoy watching and/or attending sports events, either at home or local pubs/bars. Seems I'm the odd gay guy out among those gay men that I know -- well, this is true for most of my friends -- I'm about the only one who really enjoys watching games. I like baseball most (pro and college - thank the gods for Fox College Sports!! Have the Miami/FSU game on right now, go Noles!).

Just a few years ago I was introduced to college hockey and I liked it so much I follow the local Wisconsin Badgers (and greatly enjoyed the Frozen Four final that the UW won over Boston College just last weekend).

It would be great to meet a few guys here who'd also enjoy meeting for beer and pizza to watch baseball or take a day and drive to Milwaukee for a Brewers game. That's all I'm really looking for -- just some friends to enjoy the games with. It's a part of my life the rest of my friends don't share. Would be nice to have some with whom I can :-)

Welcome to the board, and hope you are able to find some local buds too. wink

Dude! I love Madison, but sadly, I don't live there. My partner's family does, so I go maybe twice a year. Maybe we'll catch each other then. I feel weird watching Packers games with them. Can't add my usual, "look at that butt" kinda comments.

Peace!

I know what you mean about Madison. I like living here (came up to get a PhD 15 years ago, got a great job and stayed). Moved here just a few years before Brett and co. won their SuperBowl so I had a chance to live through that--and also through the Badger ascendancy (I can still remember when they tied for the Big10 Conf. lead which meant they were going to the RoseBowl--a crowd of around 30,000 folks marched down University Ave :-) Now with the Women and Men's Hockey teams winning the NCAA championships (as did the Men's Cross Country team last fall) -- that'll set the UW sports a higher bar for sure.

Now if only Brett would make up his damned mind.
