You know who I like? (Not like *that*.) The guy with the shovel, who is apparently the "air traffic controller" for the jumps. He waves his shovel in jubilation after every jumper.

Is the Czech jumper, who made history by doing some sort of five-way twist-flip in mid-air, wearing a wrist watch? Why?

Those ski bindings must be set to "11," as they never pop loose on amy landing.

It was incredible to see what those skiers could do once they launched themselves 50 feet in the air.

I am glad that Joe Pack took a silver. I saw a couple profiles of him and really liked his story. (Okay -- he is cute too.)

I, for one, would never have the courage to hurtle into the air and do those tricks.

If I've been understanding the coverage correctly, and that is a big "if" considering NBC's technical coverage of obscure sports pretty much ends when they figure the housewive's eyes glaze over, there is not one guy with a shovel, but each jumper or team has a coach who does in fact do some direction while the jumper is in the air. Also he appears to have a walkie-talkie (I miss those in this day of cellular phones and direct connect bs) so that he can tell the skiers at the top of the hill what to expect at the bottom.
