Sorry. Wait until next year. Or the year after that.

And the rest of the world agrees. The Colorado Rockies can't get any respect. Either at home (http://www.westword.com/issues/current/news/feature.html) or on the road. Well, we've often said the team can't even get arrested in this town. Apparently, they CAN in other cities, though.

------------

PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver ordered security guards to remove three Colorado Rockies players from America West Arena on Monday night for their conduct while seated directly behind him during a game against Denver.

The Arizona Republic reported that Sarver warned the men several times about violating standards of fan behavior before having them escorted out of the arena.

"When they violate that policy and don't adhere to a number of warnings, they need to leave," Sarver told the newspaper.

Rockies spokesman Jay Alves said outfielder Matt Holliday and pitchers Shawn Chacon, Brian Fuentes and Javier Lopez attended the game, but that he was not sure who was ejected. The Rocky Mountain News identified two of the three who were ejected as Chacon and Fuentes.

"We're aware of the situation and we're looking into it," Alves said.

Forgive me but I only read the first page. wink The other night on Baseball Tonight one of the talking heads said they need to trade Helton and get lots of prospects and rebuild -- there's no need for him with the team they have, and they've alienated the fan base so much that a trade of Helton couldn't really make it worse.

Meanwhile, the Rockies obtained Byung-Hyun Kim from Boston.

QUOTE
Kim was sent Wednesday to the Rockies for left-handed pitcher Chris Narveson, 23, who was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket, and catcher Charles Johnson, who was immediately designated for assignment and released.

As part of the trade, Colorado sent Boston about $2.6 million to equalize the salaries. Johnson is owed $9 million and Kim $6 million, part of a $10 million, two-year deal he signed before the 2004 season.

\"We certainly made a mistake and I take responsibility for that,\" Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein said. \"It's just a mystery what happened to this guy.\"

George Twins fan
I would love to see Helton play somewhere else. He is a fine player as well as pretty hot! Maybe my Twins would consider giving up some of their many prospects? biggrin.gif

Completely forgiveable. It IS from Westword, the free Denver weekly, after all. smile.gif

I do feel bad for Helton, who's sort of condemn to be the "genius among idiots" in Colorado. But if the Rockies traded him away, the team would literally have no "names" on their roster...and THEN who do you put on the billboards? Dinger?

The Rockies will never trade Helton... and actually it's a decent bunch of rookies this year and within a year or two this will be a home-built team like the Twins. They'll probably suck this year offensively, but watch for their pitching staff. They're actually pretty good.
