Yeah, I know; I rave about shortwave the way other listers rave about Drew B., Eric C., or Ted N. Whatever. This message appeared at the rec.radio.shortwave newsgroup:

Try http://www.akueck.de/logs.htm to see my loggings of World Cup Matches on worldband radio by now.
You should learn to understand Italian, French, German and Spanish sufficiently.
Maybe RAI from Italy covers all matches (however, in Italian, on 9515 kHz, 7175 kHz and 6060 kHz) and could be heard on the Balearics (here in Northern Germany poorly during daytime).
Radio France International covers matches of France and African teams in French on many worldband frequencies (9790 kHz 11845 kHz, 15300 kHz, 15315 kHz, 17750 kHz, 17860 kHz, 21580 kHz and 21620 kHz).
Radio Deutsche Welle covers Germany's matches on shortwave in German.
By now, I found English language coverage done by BBC Radio 5 Live on mediumwave 693 kHz. That is mostly well to receive here Northern Germany but
hardly in the Balearics during daytime, I guess.
Another chance is Atlantic 252 on longwave 252 kHz transmitting in English from either Ireland or the UK (I don't know exactly.). They covered Germany vs Ireland in English yesterday. Atlantic 252 might be heard on the Balearics.
Good luck and nice holiday!

You will not be able to hear either of the European stations at 693 kHz or 252 kHz here in the States.
