FIFA has introduced a new ranking system as the old one was filled with flaws. The biggest and most obvious change is that instead of looking at results from the last 8 years, they look at only the last 4.

Today they unvieled the first official rankings with the new system...

Random Thoughts...

- I'm not sure how Spain or Holland can be ranked higher than Portugal. Portugal finished 2nd in Euro 2004 and Semi Finalists at World Cup 2006. Granted they didn't have any qualifying games from 2002-2004 since they hosted Euro but wow, I'm shocked to see those two teams ahead of Portugal.

- USA's ranking is fair I think, as is Mexico.

- Words can not describe the shock at seeing Canada ranked 54th in the World. And the fact they're ranked higher than South Korea just rattles the brain. If anyone out there can explain that one to me, that would be greatly appreciated.
