Hey, is anybody keeping watch of the Condederations tournament? I'm going for Mexico. Who are you rooting for?

I'm really excited about the Brazil vs. Germany game, it's going to be really good, although I think that it would be even more exciting if Brazil had beaten Japan, that tie just took away some of their luster.

I didn't know the Confederations Cup had already started. If you have a link, please post it. I do know that I could never root for Mexico due to the way they have disrespected the Americans over the years. Brazil and Germany are cool, though.

Rooting for Mexico is just horrible. I don't know who I'm rooting for really. I don't think I want ANY of the teams left to win, but if I had to name one I'd say Brazil. Here's a link to the Confederations Cup Home.

Thanks for the link, Metro. Looking over the countries involved, I could see myself rooting for Australia and Greece. However, since they are both at the bottom of their respective divisions (by quite a bit), I will pull for Brazil or Germany.

In the Confederations Cup Final it's....Brazil and Argentina.

Brazil got to the final with a 3-2 semifinal win over Germany. Inter Milan star Adriano had a pair of goals.

Argentina needed penalty kicks to beat Mexico. After a 0-0 tie in regulation, Mexico scored in extra time through Carlos Salcido. However, 6 minutes later, Luiz Figueroa put home an equalizer for Argentina. In the penalty kick round, Argentina won 6-5.

This is the second meeting in less than a month between these two soccer powers. They met in a World Cup qualifier in the beginning of June, with Argentina winning that match. It seems like it should be a very entertaining game.
