When the Georgia state House endorsed their iteration anti-gay marriage legislation, I wrote a little note and made a small donation to the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund. The org's website is here: http://www.victoryfund.org/

About the Victory Fund: Our mission is simple: to achieve true equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans by electing and supporting openly LGBT candidates and officials at the federal, state and local levels of public office. A break through begins with a voice. Let yours be Victory.

I received a thank you letter and yesterday I also got an e-mail update about the organization's work. Gay candidates are challenging for three seats in Congress and are running for positions in Idaho, Indiana, Missouri, and Oregon.

Another cool thing is that you can use the site to search for gay candidates and gay elected officials in your state, so if you want to help someone campaign or learn more about organizing in your area you can find someone in your state or maybe even locally to support.

It's a great site. Very inspiring. Thought people might want to check it out. The site again: http://www.victoryfund.org/
