Okay you political mavens, here's a fun link for you to munch on. See breakdowns on political contributions per major city. You can even enter your address and see which of your neighbors made the biggest contributions and to whom.

Lookie who I found!Dear <Mary Cheney>,
Thank you so much for your contribution of <$850>, that money will go a long way towards helping me amend the constitution to ban gay marriage. Inclusion wins!

I always knew that
Troy Aikman was probably a member of the Log Cabin Hypocrites.
Do you have a
DELL computer? George Bush thanks you for your support.
Ralph Lauren is in John Kerry's corner to the tune of $2,000.

In another thread,
RGMike posted
This website allows you to search neighborhoods or addresses and see who's contributing to Bush or Kerry! See who your friends (or enemies) are supporting. Needless to say it's causing controversy.
In an article in Thursday's NY Times, one woman complained, "I live in a community that's overwhelmingly Republican; all the moms have Bush-Cheney bumper stickers on their minivans. I'm literally one of two Democrats on my entire street. So even if it's a very small possibility, I think there could be repercussions in some neighborhoods - petty vandalism, a slashed tire or graffiti." (Conversely, a Republican in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury said he was more worried about putting a Bush sign in his window than about being on the website.) Here's the link; happy searching!

All my neighbors in Illinois overwhelmingly gave either to Kerry and Dean. A few retired people gave to W. (Big surprise there--this is the same state where the black U.S. Senate candidate with the unusual name got more votes alone than all the GOPers combined!)
About half my neighbors in New Jersey gave to W, the other half to Kerry and Dean. Lo and behold, W and Kerry are statistically tied in New Jersey, Most of my former Catholic high school classmates--the ones whose names come up--are W supporters.
This is actually a lot of fun: typing in "Rockefeller," "Kennedy," "Roosevelt," etc. brings up all kinds of info. Lots of stars are Kerry or Dean supporters--big surprise. Several famous philosophers also, it seems, support(ed) Dean or Kerry.

I didn't know Stalingrad even HAD zip codes. (Oops, I forgot that that name is no more. Nevertheless, I think it's best to wax nostalgic here for many folks.)

Neat site, most interesting entry I found?
Mr Krutsinger And MIB, I'd be careful about throwing out the Stalinist label. Labels are easy to attach and diffictult to remove and, unlike the majority of board members, go both ways.
