At least i didnt see any spelling errors, then again, i'm the last person to look for them...

What gay marriage has to do with divorce rates, ummm i dunno... i can't even connect that one. What children out of wedlock has to do with Raze and horn getting hitched, i dunno... What children living in poverty has to do with gay marriage, i dunno.

I know! Let's preserve the sanctity of marriage by coming up with more shows like "Who Wants to Marry A Freaky Gazillionaire" or "The Bachelorette Part XIII" or "Let's Get Married in Las Vegas Before We Sober Up."

It's all about the dignity of marriage. Just keep tellin' yourself that, Ricky.

LOL - Have a Grrrreat time! Be sure to have some Freedom Fries at Paris. Or (seriously) check out Red Square at Mandalay Bay. Awesome vodka selection, and will gladden your glasnost heart.

NO PF scored him a room at the Venetian... supposedly some ritzy joint, but i have not been there in a few years... as PF + Debit Card/Creditcard + gambling + free booze = financial troubles....

However, i think one of those elvis weddings would be fitting for us. dont you think? As long as that boston chick doesnt get too pissed...

Hey PF, how long are you going to be in Vegas? I'll be down there from Sunday through Wed comming up. We should hook up and grab a beer sometime if you're in town when I am.

Why is it that none of these "pro-family" types can ever provide any concrete examples of how exactly gay marriage will damage straight marriage? They talk about the "unique benefits to society" but never say what those are. I guess you could argue that gay marriage, and the realization that gays are humans and not evil perverts, will prevent gay kids from entering sham straight marriages to hide in the closet - but I doubt those are the kinds of marriages worth saving.

... or from entering real but (usually) futile marriages in a sincere but misguided attempt to "straighten" themselves out (yes, it still happens)

I saw Senator Sanatriums op-ed piece in USA today. It just makes me wonder what they are REALLY afraid of.

My high school textbook sez that "Santorum" is Latin for "ass****" ...

Hey PhillyFan - while your in Vegas make sure and tell Bill Bennett "hi" and "lay off the pork chops."

People like Santorum are always talking about protecting the "sanctity of marriage" and how they can't let us gayboys threaten it. Can someone explain to me how straight people are protecting the institution of marrage when over 50% of marrages end up in divorce? Not to mention all the adulterous affairs, children born out of wedlock, etc?

Its crazy to think that strengthening gay unions is going to hurt straight marriage- its apples & oranges to me. Are people gonna jump ship from one institution to the other?

I guess if these people believe we can actually "recruit" youngsters to become gay...it's not a far leap for them. rolleyes.gif

Best line in the whole thing:
"Furthermore, it's just common sense that marriage is the union of a man and a woman."

Its common sense? I didnt know common sense was a law. It certainly isnt when it came to his editorial as you can see in this statement:

"The out-of-wedlock childbirth rate is at a historically high level, while the divorce rate remains unacceptably high. Legalization of gay marriage would further undermine an institution that is essential to the well-being of children and our society."

Ok gay people want to get married. Very much so. So this is somehow going to increase out of wedlock child birth and divorce rates? Ummmmm. I need that one explained to me.

And last note. The guy is now questioning the validity of his own Constitution by questioning the validity of the US Supreme Court:

"I hope elected leaders will rally behind the effort to defend the legal status of marriage from a non-elected group of justices".

I dont believe you can impeach a senator but maybe we need a law on that first.

Dan Savage Santorum
Some of you may know Mr. Saveage as the columnist who writes savage love, a sex advice column.
The column can be found at theonion.com, under their A.V. club.
I belive the Village Voice also carries it.
Unfortunatley the onion does not carry back isues of his column, however the google search did come up with some interesting posts.
You will never think of the name Santorum the same way....LOL
