I was never a fan of this recall, and less of a fan of Ahnold, but Mr. Novak's November 10 article is interesting, at least in the sense that both conservatives and liberals are upset about a lot of things. THAT is music to my ears:

What's new in this? And didn't the GOP control California for a sizable portion of the years 1970-2000? Novak's usual blaming of things on Democrats (hey, wasn't it Petey Wilson who pushed for energy deregulation? Aren't GOP-friendly developers the ones trying to pave and build upon every last inch of California's coastline and former farmland? etc.) is par for the course. Let's see how much of a savior Schwarzenegger is. In fact, California's business climate and growth is better than many US states, and the hysteria produced by the GOP about jobs "fleeing" was just that, more smoke, mirrors and lies by a party that will do ANYTHING to steal an election, down to placing untested and unverifiable voting machines in polling places.

I agree: let's give the man the chance to fulfill the optimistic expectations of those of us in the majority here who elected him to office. Then, constructive criticism will be in order; confused and bitter rehashing of issues and days gone by will not.

That'd be funnier if it wasn't so ridiculously untrue. Coming from someone who belongs to a party that wrote the book, song, play, and every other publication on how to rig elections and break federal election laws.

"Untested and unverified machines..."--puhleeze! The same damn machines that elected Davis. Really, your song is quite old now. Try a newer tune.
