It's all the talk around town now -- blackberry to blackberry.

This from the Post:

"The Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill was locked down this afternoon after a man who may have a gun entered the building, according to Capitol Police.

No gunshots or injuries have been reported.

A police spokeswoman said the man entered the building at about 1:30 p.m. Police believe he is carrying a .38-caliber snub-nosed weapon that has a white handle and a blue nose. It was unclear how the man got past security guards.

The suspect was described by police as a white man, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 140 pounds. According to police, he is wearing a black suit and carrying a gray backpack.

Police said they were actively searching inside the building."

Rep. Bob Ney, R-Ohio, chairman of the House Administration Committee, said that at about 1:20 p.m. EST an individual went through the metal detector and put a bag that looked like a bookbag on the conveyor belt at the security checkpoint.

Ney said police saw an object that looked like a revolver in the bag, but before they could stop the suspect grabbed the bag and ran.

They pursued the suspect and lost the person, he said, and the building was evacuated, he said. Entrances to connecting office buildings, the Capitol and the Library of Congress were shut down.

The man and woman have been caught. Looks like this was a Halloween prank.

I have a buddy who works in Cannon, he said it wasn't as dramatic as they made it out to be on TV. I went ahead and called dibs on his CDs just in case, but he survived the ordeal.

Someone ought to tell Poppie and Bar that such things don't fly in post-9/11 Washington! "Not prudent, not prudent."
