And why shouldn't this key member of the "Axis of Evil" support him? W let their agent Ahmad Chalabi help orchestrate a disastrous war that is definitely benefitting him and Iran every single day!

Bush wins election endorsement — from Iran

FROM ASSOCIATED PRESS

TEHRAN, Iran — The head of Iran's security council said today the re-election of President George W. Bush would be in Tehran's best interests, despite the administration's axis of evil label, accusations Iran harbours Al Qaeda terrorists and threats of sanctions over the country's nuclear ambitions.

Historically, Democrats have harmed Iran more than Republicans, said Hasan Rowhani, head of the Supreme National Security Council, Iran's top security decision-making body.

\"We haven't seen anything good from Democrats,\" Rowhani told state-run television in remarks that, for the first time in recent decades, saw Iran openly supporting one U.S. presidential candidate over another.

Though Iran generally does not publicly wade into U.S. presidential politics, it has a history of preferring Republicans over Democrats, who tend to press human rights issues.

\"We do not desire to see Democrats take over,\" Rowhani said when asked if Iran is supporting Democratic Senator John Kerry against Bush.

QUOTE
Iranian political analyst Mohsen Mofidi said ousting the Taliban and Saddam was the \"biggest service any administration could have done for Iran.\"

And Bush, he said, has learned from his mistakes.

\"The experience of two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and the responsibility Bush had will make it a very remote possibility for him to risk attacking a much bigger and more powerful country like Iran,\" he said.

Mofidi added: \"Democrats usually insist on human rights and they will have more excuses to pressure Iran.\"

Republican and Democratic presidents have issued executive orders against Iran, with Reagan in 1987 barring Iranian crude oil and other imports, and Bill Clinton in 1995 banning U.S. trade and investment in Iran.

\"We should not forget that most sanctions and economic pressures were imposed on Iran during the time of Clinton,\" Rowhani said.

\"And we should not forget that during Bush's era — despite his hard-line and baseless rhetoric against Iran — he didn't take, in practical terms, any dangerous action against Iran.\"

First that decocracy-crushing turd Putin endorses Bushmonkey and now Iran...who will endorse Bush tomorrow? Castro? North Korea? smile.gif I guess Iran wants W for four more years since they aren't finished building their nuclear arsenal that they have been working on for the last four years while Bushmonkey has stood by and done nothing...sort of the same policy he has with North Korea.

Or they could be publicly backing Bush, so that Americans will think he is an Iranian agent and then vote for Kerry-whom they really like better. Who cares what Iran or Russia think? Vote your own conscience.

What are YOU smoking? Iran since the Islamic Revolution been one of the MAJOR sponsors and abetters of Islamic terrorism in the world. It is the most populous Shi'ite country on earth, with almost three times the population (70 million people) of Iraq (25 million). It is a sworn enemy of Israel, and of the USA. It has helped to destabilize Aghanistan, and its mullahs supported the Taliban. It also has inserted hundreds of thousands, if not MILLIONS, of agents into Iraq since the beginning of this war, and is directly involved in organizing Shi'ites to seize the control of Iraq's government if and when 1) elections happen or 2) we pull out, whichever comes first.

Iran also is developing its nuclear capabilities, and since our military is bogged down in Iraq, we cannot possibly use force to halt their plans. WHY would they want someone in office (Kerry) who has spoken of getting those troops out there sooner rather than later? Can't you see how we are furthering their plans every single day? Ahmad Chalabi, W's buddy, knew exactly what he was doing.

There is a reason W rightly labeled Iran as part of the "Axis of Evil." It DOES matter what they think, because they are extremely, extremely dangerous.

Russia still has more nuclear warheads than any other country on earth outside the US. So we sure in the hell better consider what's going on in both countries, and think about the fact that an authoritarian like Putin, and the fanatical mullahs in Iran, are openly supported W. Birds of a feather flock together....

What they think in geopolitical sense and endorsing someone for Prez are 2 different issues to me.

Yes, Russia has the 2nd biggest stockpile of nukes in the world, is rather unstable and is sliding away from democracy. How we treat them and deal with them in the world is one thing.

But again, do they vote in the US?? No, so what they think will not affect who I vote for.

OH, and on a much more important issue:

How do I cut and paste what someone says and put it in my answer and then respond to it? biggrin.gif

BTW, the point about Iran's endorsement isn't to motivate anyone either way, but to point out the irony that a member of the "Axis of Evil" is openly supporting the very man who...well, you get me.

BTW2, Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Belarus, an increasingly isolated nation, recently declared that it was "God" who appointed Putin, and that the Russian people always needed a "czar," and that Putin should follow his example and ram through a Constitutional change that extends his terms in office (in Russia, now limited to two) for as long as he liked. Not exactly the sort of democratic "freedom" pRes W is talking about, is it? Or is it?

This week, the United States imposed ecnomic sanctions on Belarus afer Lukashenko secured a constitutional amendment removing term limits and allowing him to again seek the presidency in 2006. Lukashenko has been trouble for a very long time -- and at one time sought a re-union or confederation with Russia.

Belarus calls sanctions 'unfriendly step' by U.S.

In other endorsement news, Jesse CVentura has come out in favor of John Kerry. For some reason, this made the news in LA & it almost made me drive off the road.
