I read an article in my local paper this morning about the A.A.R.P., and how they are telling Congress to pass a prescription drug program, "or else". They said that if one is not passed and soon, they will target incumbent members of the House and Senate! Right on A.A.R.P. Hopefully Congress will get your powerful message.

I wish AARP would bring pressure to bear on the Pharmaceutical industry rather than simply targeting Congress.

Exactly, because the current prescription drug bill contains a Trojan horse position that will ultimately endanger not only the viability of any government-sponsored prescription drug plan, but also Medicare itself. Rushing to do something is often NOT a good idea, and while I understand AARP's desire to flex its muscle(s), doing so to further something that will harm the middle-class, working-class and poor elderly in the long run is just plain dangerous.
