I saw an interesting story on the national news tonight about the GOP giving out awards for "Doctor of the year" to hundreds of deserving physicians. Catch is that in order to recieve the award, they had to donate $12,000 to the GOP campaign fund. Sounds like a scam to me, but not likely that anything will be done about it. If you see a Dr. advertising as a "Doc of the year", also look for the degree from Grenada.

I saw that too. As ABC's Brian Ross did, I will Google.

Google for \"Physican of the Year.\" Most of the ones I see at Google are legit, unlike the ones on TV tonight. Here's a doc who has purchased her award:

Dr. Gail Whitman– Elia to receive a National Physician of the Year award

NRCC chairman, Congressman Tom Reynolds, will present the award to Dr. Whitman–Elia. In announcing the award, Reynolds said Dr. Whitman–Elia had shown “outstanding leadership and entrepreneurial spirit” which led to significant job creation at her practice.
