2003 Crow is against war.... by the way, she was in Kosovo entertaining the troops (1996)... she's agaisnt wars? or just the ones who have republicans in office?

Actor-activist Mike Farrell, for example, says about Iraq, "It is inappropriate for the administration to trump up a case in which we are ballyhooed into war." But back in 1999, about Kosovo, Farrell said, "I think it's appropriate for the international community in situations like this to intervene. I am in favor of an intervention."

Alleged comedienne/actress Janeane Garofalo, who complained that artists aren't being taken seriously when they talk about political issues.

When asked by Tony Snow of ``Fox News Sunday'' why she didn't protest the 1999 attacks on Kosovo and other military strikes during the Clinton years, she said, ``It wasn't very hip.''
First Runner-up: Diva Barbra Streisand, who penned a memo to then Democratic House Leader Richard Gephardt (spelling it ``Gebhardt'') that told him he should claim that George Bush wanted to attack Iraq to help Republican donors.

Streisand did not complain, nor did she ascribe sinister motives to Bill Clinton when he ordered military strikes in the Balkans, Sudan, Afghanistan and in the no-fly zones in Afghanistan.

Its a fair point, but it comes down to a matter of trust, I suppose. Those people who dont trust George Bush in general obviously wont trust his motives on this one either. If theyre really anti-Bush they will obviously think his motives are "sinister".

It cuts both ways. Didnt some of the Republicans refer to Kosovo as "Madeleine's war"?

If Hollywood stars are claiming to be totally anti-war (pacifist, I mean) having supported Kosovo they deserve to be "exposed" as hypocrites.

But if theyre just saying that theyre against this war because its being run by Bush then thats not hypocritical. It just means that they so mistrust him, they cant support anything he does. Obviously you wont agree with them on that, Philly Fan, but its a reasonable line to take for those who regard Bush as sinister, etc.

It's ok for a democrat to kill civilians, but not republicans....

Sincerely,

Babs.

Lets just get down to the brass tacks on this issue...I am going to be blunt. The extreme left as well as some moderate liberals HATE Bush, HATE republicans and HATE conservative thinking! Whatever Bush does in his presidency will never be good in their eyes.
HornFan
And that is different than vice versa when Clinton was in office in what way? Why is it so hard to understand that people (many people) don't trust Bush and his administration?
fantomas
PhillyFan's channeling the ghosts of both McCarthy and Nixon, thus the "lists" of people. Scary. They disagree with you, get OVER IT.

One should not proclaim to be Anti-War when you are just Anti-Bush. Perhaps if ms. crow had a "i hate bush" shirt, i'd have just a tad bit more respect... but to hide behind the anti-war campaign... that makes her, and them idiots.

It's ok, they will be exposed and truth will be told....

Ah yes, and will you be the first one to make sure that they pay for their transgressions...oops, we just overthrew Mr. Payback, didn't we? Where's your compassion, conservative?

WASHED UP? The woman won an Academy Award just a few years ago? I mean, who are you folks going to leave us with? Bo Derek and the be-Alzheimered Charlton Heston? Puh-lease! Let these people speak out. Don't you get it that THIS IS WHAT SEPARATES US FROM THE WACKO WE JUST OVERTHREW??? But I guess the irony is just utterly lost...on some.

There are plenty of good hollywood folks who simply keep their mouths shut.... When you rely on public opinion and their movie money, cd money... it's best to keep your mouth shut.. instead of wondering why no one is playing the dixi chics cd anymore.

Perhaps the next research project should be the education level of these people... I'd doubt 1/2 of them have ever walked into a economics class.

Philly Fan is right.

Bono of U2 knows just about as much about Third World debt relief as anyone on this planet. When he went to Washington to stump for it, he blew all the politicos away with his knowledge. Of course, the pompous twat had to f**k all that good work up by kissing Jessie Helms' ass, but c'est le guerre.

And curious, isn't it, that PhillyFan's continual foaming at the mouth about celebrities and them talking out of turn never seems to mention that darling of the right in California, the one that they hope will lead them out of the wilderness of political irrelevance here: Ahnald Schwarzenegger. Mr. S. has been mentioned as a possible gubnetorial candidate in 2006. So why should we take what a TRULY washed up "actor" who's NOT EVEN AMERICAN, BUT AUSTRIAN (I don't care what his passport says) says seriously at all? If that's not a case of someone using their (faded) celebrity to talk nonsense about politics, I don't know what is.
